Kevin’s 4 Hour Body: Day 30

At 36 years of age, it’s really time that I take my health and fitness seriously.

On 12/13/14 I bought the 4 Hour Body, by Tim Ferriss and promptly started his “slow-carb” diet. Within a few weeks I also bought my first kettlebell and started swinging away.

Here’s my 4 week check in:
I’ve lost 8 pounds of fat while gaining 2 pounds of muscle. (10 body reshape)
I’ve lost 2.25 total inches thus far (measuring chest, waist, hips, biceps and thighs).
My body fat% went down 3.5%. Considering the holidays, I think this is great!

  1. Finished one of my longest and best blog posts (to be published @ HubSpot next week)
  2. Won 3 different (small) projects today.
  3. We got our baby turkey 3 chicks for friends.

8 weeks till Race Day

On 12/12/14 I started training for a 2 day mountain bike event in Costa Rica at the end of February. It’s the 24th annual (my third) Vuelta al Lago. Day one is entirely off road and consists of riding over a mountain (two category 3 climbs) followed by a rocky road that involves 2 river crossings (and a creek or two) and ends in La Fortuna, next to Volcano Arenal.  Day 2 completes the ride around the lake to return to Tilaran and is a pretty much “up and down” day.
